OVERVIEW

Founded in 1986, Synagro is the largest wastewater treatment operation in the US, with hundreds of employees throughout almost every state. Synagro grew very quickly through acquisitions which expanded the selection of offerings and services; from collection of wastewater to treatment, disposal and re-use.

CHALLENGE

Synagro’s primary challenge was a lack of cohesion around a much bigger picture than the technical aspects of managing waste challenges. They lacked consensus around the missions of various departments, that led to outdated, complex and disconnected communication assets. And saddest of all,  an inherent “ick” factor kept them from communicating confidently or loudly.

SOLUTION

A complete re-brand, spanning through research, re-positioning, brand architecture, and into brand execution and brand management which celebrated how Synagro was helping synchronize the natural outputs of a growing society (waste) with the natural planet around them.

Developed a simple brand architecture that made sense of many different offerings, helping bridge audiences and increase cross-selling. Designed and developed a completely overhauled website, brochures, sales sheets, case studies, social media, event and space design, and dozens of direct marketing resources.
